What is SECS?

The Science and Engineering Council of Students (SECS) of Tulane University is the governing body that represents undergraduates in the School of Science and Engineering.  SECS primarily does programming directed at these students, such as our annual Snow Day event and Science and Engineering Week, which includes the Boggs Quad Crawfish Boil, one of the most popular events on campus.  In addition to student programming, we participate in community outreach events, such as FIRST Lego League and FIRST Robotics.

We are comprised of 23 students: 4 executive board members, 16 representatives from each class, and 3 Undergraduate Student Government (USG) senators.  The USG senators serve as liaisons between our organization and the entire undergraduate community.  We are under the guidance of Dr. Beth Wee, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs.
